Check out the trailer for upcoming Netflix sci-fi film Rim of the World.
Director McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation) returns to Netflix following his fun horror flick The Babysitter (our review of that one is HERE) with a sci-fi adventure in the vein of Attack the Block. Rim of the World follows four misfit teens that find their world turned upside down when an alien invasion occurs while they’re at a camp.
This self-aware, light-hearted genre route looks to be just right for McG, whose big-screen outings – apart from We Are Marshall‘s warm response from audiences – haven’t been critically well received. The screenplay here comes from Zack Stentz, whose credits include Thor and X-Men: First Class. We could be in for a fun time.
Rim of the World, starring Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., and Alessio Scalzotto, among others, hits Netflix on May 24.
Official synopsis for Rim of the World:
Summer camp at Rim of the World has barely begun when four misfit teenagers — Alex, ZhenZhen, Dariush, and Gabriel — find they’ve got bigger problems to face than learning how to canoe and climb ropes when aliens suddenly invade the planet. Alone in a campground once teeming with people, the kids are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. Without any adults or electronics to help guide the way, it’s clear what they must do: band together, conquer their fears, and save the world. An epic action-adventure directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels).
