Ron Burgundy to Write Memoir

Ron Burgundy, the legendary anchor of San Diego’s award-winning Action 4 News Team, will be writing a tell-all memoir. The New York Times has reported that the Crown Archetype imprint of Random House’s Crown Publishing Group will be releasing Burgundy’s memoir, entitled Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings.

In a news release Crown Archetype said the book would “offer a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor.”

Crown Archetype/Random House released Ron Burgundy’s “statement” to Today: “I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written. I’m too close to the work. I will tell you this much, the first time I sat down and read this thing, I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank!”

Of course, Ron Burgundy isn’t a real-life character. He is a character played by Will Ferrell in the comedy-hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The “memoir” is a marketing ploy to help promote the long-awaited sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Let Me Off at the Top! will be released in the United States in print and digital formats on November 19.
