Take a look at the trailer released for Running with the Devil, an upcoming thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Laurence Fishburne.
When it’s a Cage film these days, there isn’t too much hope for a massive mainstream hit that finds him chasing a second Oscar. BUT, there is the potential for a surprise gem, such as 2018’s Mandy and 2017’s Mom and Dad.
We’ll see what’s in store with Running with the Devil, a film that finds the movie-churning actor playing a character simply named The Cook, a drug lab cook who works for The Boss (Barry Pepper). The plot finds Boss’ cocaine shipment compromised, leading The Cook and The Man (Fishburne) on a journey to audit the supply chain as Federal Agents close in. There’s a decent supporting cast, including Barry Pepper, Clifton Collins Jr., and Cole Hauser.
Running with the Devil hits limited US cinemas and VOD on September 20.

When a cocaine shipment is compromised to the dismay of a drug cartel’s CEO, known simply as The Boss, he orders his most trusted henchman, The Cook, and his partner, another master drug trafficker known as The Man, on a dangerous journey to audit the company’s supply chain. As the drugs make their perilous trek across international borders, past gangsters, refiners, and couriers, they are also being tracked by Federal Agents. When The Cook realizes where the network is breaking down, it may be too late to keep the cartel satisfied.
