The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards recognised outstanding performances in film and television, with Conclave taking home the top prize on the film side of things. Hosted by Kristen Bell and streamed live on Netflix, the ceremony also saw Shōgun and Only Murders in the Building take the drama and comedy series ensemble awards, respectively.

Focus Features’ Conclave, a drama about the election of a new pope, won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The win follows its recent success at the BAFTAs and comes ahead of the Academy Awards, where it’s nominated for 8 Oscars.

Demi Moore secured Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for The Substance, continuing her strong awards season, Timothée Chalamet won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, while Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) and Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) won the supporting acting categories.

Shōgun won big in television categories, with Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai also bestowed with individual awards for their performances in the FX series. The comedy series awards went to Only Murders in the Building‘s Martin Short and Hacks star Jean Smart. Colin Farrell (The Penguin) and Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer) won in the limited series categories.

The night also saw Jane Fonda receive a SAG Life Achievement Award.
