Scarlett Johansson has been cast as the lead in The Psychopath Test, an upcoming psychological thriller from comedy director Jay Roach (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Meet the Parents).
Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have attached screenwriter Kristin Gore, known for War Story and Accidental Love, to adapt the novel written by Jon Ronson.
The bestselling book authored by Ronson, who also penned The Men Who Stare at Goats, explores how those in the medical community diagnose a particular group of people: deadly psychopaths. Apparently one in one hundred people can be classified as a psychopath, and the book explores the madness of the industry.
Academy Award winning producer Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, American Gangster) is to produce the film alongside Roach, Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey.
Johansson’s next feature film will be Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will see her reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow.
