‘Scoob!’ Trailer: Scooby, Shaggy and the Gang Get a Big-Screen Adventure

Warner Bros.

Take a look at the first trailer Warner Bros. has released for Scoob!, the first full-length CG-animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen.

As you can see in the trailer below, this adaptation of the beloved Hanna-Barbera Productions cartoon will offer up a bit of an origin story, showing how Scooby and Shaggy first met and became lifelong buddies and how they teamed up with Fred, Velma and Daphne to form Mystery Inc. Alas, while we wouldn’t mind seeing much more of what looks like an adorable story of young Scooby and Shaggy, the plot here finds the gang trying to foil a plan to  to unleash a ghost dog upon the world.

The voice cast includes Will Forte as Shaggy, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Zac Efron as Fred, Mark Wahlberg as Blue Falcon, Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman, and longtime Scooby-Doo voice Frank Welker back as the lovable pooch.

This marks the first big-screen feature for director Tony Cervone, who’s directed two straight-to-video animated Scooby-Doo films and various Tom and Jerry adventures. The script comes from Matt Lieberman (writer of the delightful Netflix holiday film The Christmas Chronicles) and Kelly Fremon Craig (writer-director of The Edge of Seventeen).

Scoob! will open in Aus cinemas on May 14 and US cinemas on May 15, 2020.

Official synopsis for Scoob!:
