The first trailer has dropped for Self/less, an upcoming sci-fi thriller from director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall, Immortals).
Ben Kingsley plays a wealthy man dying from cancer who decides to transfer his mind into the body of a young man (Ryan Reynolds). It’s all good at first, his new body providing him with a new chance at life, but the body’s origin soon becomes an issue.
Matthew Goode, Michelle Dockery, Natalie Martinez, Victor Garber and Derek Luke also star in this interesting thriller, which we’re hoping will have a good enough screenplay to benefit from Singh’s artistic eye. The director’s visuals have always impressed, but his films often lack in the screenplay department. This one is penned by David Pastor and Àlex Pastor, known for Carriers, The Last Days and Out of the Dark.
Self/less hits the US and UK on July 31.
