‘Sex and the City’ Revival Officially On the Way; Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon & Kristin Davis Returning Without Kim Cattrall

Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte are returning to the small screen!

HBO Max has announced a series order has been handed to a revival of popular HBO series Sex and the City, which ran from six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and also spawned two feature films. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will be reprising their aforementioned roles, although Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha in the series, is notably absent from the announcement.

The 10-episode, half-hour series has been titled And Just Like That… and will be heading to WarnerMedia’s U.S. streaming service HBO Max. While plot details are being kept under wraps, HBO Max did release the following logline…

The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

The three leads will also be on board as executive producers, working alongside returning EP Michael Patrick King, who directed a number of the original show’s episodes and directed the two films.

“I grew up with these characters,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max. “And I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humour and the beloved city that has always defined them.”

Production on And Just Like That… is scheduled to begin in New York in late spring.

Here’s the little video promo that Parker, Nixon and Davis shared to social media as the news was announced…
