Tatiana Maslany has entered the Marvel universe.
The Orphan Black and Perry Mason star has scored the title role in the Marvel Studios series She-Hulk, which will be heading to Disney+. Announced to direct is It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Dead to Me helmer Kat Coiro, with a writers room that includes Rick and Morty scribe Jessica Gao.
“Welcome to the family, cuz!” actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said to Maslany on social media. The actor has teased that he may have a part to play in the show, telling Variety in April: “There’s some talk of having Banner/Hulk show up in [the Disney Plus series] She–Hulk. If we come up with something good, that would be really interesting. Right now that’s about it. That’s all there is on the table.”

The character in the comics is also known as Jennifer Walter and is the cousin of Bruce Banner, acquiring the ability to “Hulk out” when he provides her his blood in an emergency transfusion. While Banner’s Hulk is more… simple minded, at least in a majority of the character’s renditions, She-Hulk is able to keep her smarts and wit about her after having changed.
There are a number of Marvel shows heading to Disney +. Apart from She-Hulk, fans can look forward to WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.
Maslany earned an Emmy for her multi-character performance in series Orphan Black. Her big-screen credits include true-story drama Stronger and drama-thriller Destroyer.
