Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, who previously starred together in Marley and Me, star in this Woody Allen-esque upcoming comedy.
She’s Funny That Way tells the story of a married Broadway director (Wilson) whose life gets complicated after he falls for a prostitute (Imogen Poots) and decides to help her become an actress.
The first She’s Funny That Way trailer showcases a seriously old-fashioned comedy, one that could be too dated to make much of a positive impact. There’s a decent cast, including Rhys Ifans, Will Forte, Cybill Sheperd, Lucy Punch, Tatum O’Neal and Michael Shannon, but these screwball stylings don’t provide us with too much confidence. Still, hopefully we’re wrong.
Written and directed by Peter Bogdanovich, who earned himself two Oscar nominations with his fantastic 1971 drama The Last Picture Show.
She’s Funny That Way hits U.S. cinemas on April 10, 2015.
