‘Slaughterhouse Rulez’ Trailer: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Reunite in School Monster Film

Sony Pictures Releasing

Check out the trailer for Slaughterhouse Rulez, an upcoming horror-comedy featuring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Alas, it’s not another Cornetto movie and Edgar Wright isn’t involved, and Pegg and Frost aren’t the leads. But still, if they’re on board – with Michael Sheen as well, then so are we.

The film is set at a British boarding school that becomes a bloody battleground when unspeakable horror is unleashed from a nearby sinkhole. It looks like an amiable little horr-edy (?), with a nice cast and a welcome touch of practical effects.

This marks the second film from writer-director Crispian Mills, whose first feature A Fantastic Fear of Everything also starred Pegg but wasn’t very well received. Fingers crossed here.

Slaughterhouse Rulez, also starring Asa Butterfield, Finn Cole and Hermione Corfield, will be hitting UK cinemas on 31 October 2018.

Official synopsis for Slaughterhouse Rulez:

Welcome to Slaughterhouse, an elite boarding school where boys and girls are groomed for power and greatness…and they’re about to meet their match. This ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations – literally – when a controversial frack site on prized school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole, and an unspeakable horror to be unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as the pupils and teachers alike become locked in a bloody battle for survival…
