Spa Weekend Trailer: Wellness Retreat, Absolute Chaos
The setup is nice and simple: four lifelong friends, badly in need of a break, head to a luxury spa retreat for massages, champagne, comfy robes and a bit of long-overdue self-care. Naturally, things don’t exactly go as planned.

The trailer points to a broad, messy, female-led studio comedy built around burnout, bad choices, and one supposedly relaxing weekend that turns out to be anything but relaxing. There is goat yoga, runaway golf carts, luxury wellness nonsense, and what looks like plenty of public humiliation. It appears to be playing comfortably within the same lane as Bad Moms, Bridesmaids and Girls Trip, which is not exactly a bad place to be if the cast clicks.
And judging by this first look, Fisher may be the one stealing the show, playing an unhinged Aussie chaos machine who doesn’t seem to be at the retreat for quiet reflection.
Cast and Creatives Behind Spa Weekend
Spa Weekend stars Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris, with Yasmin Kassim, Adam Demos, Dominic Ona-Ariki, Stephen Hunter, Damian Walshe-Howling, Kate Lister and Tim Ross also in the cast.
The film is written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the duo behind Bad Moms and A Bad Moms Christmas. Their credits also include writing The Hangover, along with work on 21 & Over, Office Christmas Party and Jexi.
Spa Weekend Release Date
Spa Weekend will be released in Australian cinemas by VVS Films on August 20 and in U.S. cinemas via Bad Bear on August 21.
