‘Speed Kills’ Trailer: John Travolta’s Latest Has Him Playing a Speed Boating Drug Runner

Saban Films

The trailer for John Travolta’s next film has arrived.

Speed Kills is loosely based on the book of the same name by Arthur J. Harris. That book tells the story of American speed boat designer, builder and racer Donald Aronow, who was gunned down in 1987, close to his boatyard. The unfolding investigation unveiled an underworld of corruption and violence relating to the smuggling of drugs and the washing of money. Travolta’s character’s name here, presumably for legals reasons, is Ben Aronoff.

It looks… yeah. Travolta hasn’t been doing too well on the film circuit over the last few years; the less said about that fail that was Gotti the better. This direct-to-home-video-looking crime flick could also some kind of cheezy fun though… maybe?

Texas Chainsaw 3D helmer John Luessenhop directs with Jodi Scurfield and co-wrote the screenplay with David Aaron Cohen (Friday Night Lights).

Speed Kills, starring Travolta, that hair, that tan, Katheryn Winnick, Jennifer Esposito, Michael Weston, Jordi Mollà, Amaury Nolasco, Matthew Modine, James Remar and Kellan Lutz, hits VOD/ Digital HD on November 16, 2018.
