‘Spider-Man 4’ Has Its Release Date: Tom Holland Starring and Director Confirmed

Marvel Studios / Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures has officially marked the calendar for Spider-Man 4. The next big-screen chapter for Marvel‘s beloved web-slinger has been given a U.S. release date of 24 July 2026.

Tom Holland continues in the role, reuniting audiences with Peter Parker after the universe-shifting events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Set to direct the film is Destin Daniel Cretton, returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after having helmed 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Thus far, Spider-Man 4 ‘s July 24, 2026 window strategically occupies a U.S. weekend devoid of any immediate competition. The film is set to swing in after Universal’s major Christopher Nolan release on 17 July and before Paramount’s Paw Patrol 3 on 31 July.

The road to this announcement has been long-awaited by Marvel fans and insiders, who followed early chatter regarding Holland’s potential return. While the actor was first linked to the project earlier this year, confirmation took time as new contracts were reportedly under negotiation.

It remains unclear exactly how the plot will address No Way Home‘s dramatic conclusion. In that film, audiences were left in suspense as a spell wiped Peter Parker’s identity from the memory of everyone in his life, leaving fans guessing at what could be in store for the character’s future in the MCU.

The previous three Holland-led Spider-Man films (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home), all directed by Jon Watts, collectively amassed nearly $4 billion globally. No Way Home alone claimed $1.95 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film in the U.S. Despite pandemic challenges, No Way Home cemented itself as a box-office powerhouse, currently ranked as the seventh highest-grossing film globally.

Holland’s 2026 is looking very strong indeed. Just a week prior to Spider-Man 4, we’ll be seeing him in Christopher Nolan’s latest offering. Plus, there’s strong speculation that Spidey will make an appearance in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released in May.
