Take a look at the exciting full-length trailer to arrive for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Sony’s upcoming animated film taking a different Spidey, Miles Morales, to the screen.
“In your universe, there’s only one Spider-Man,” explains Morales, an Afro-Latino Spider-Man introduced to the comics in 2011. “But there’s another universe. It looks and sounds like yours, but it’s not.” Boom, welcome to the multi-verse, folks, where there are multiple characters that can don a Spidey suit.
The Lego Movie, 21/22 Jump Street and former Solo helmers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are on board as producers here, with Lord also writing the screenplay. It looks like a lot of fun. The animation is gorgeous, the humour and overall tone is infectious, and the plot hints at some pretty exciting turns. We’re downright pumped for what’s on offer here.
The voice cast includes Shameik Moore as Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Mahershala Ali as Aaron Davis/The Prowler, Liev Schreiber as The Kingpin, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, and Lily Tomlin as Aunt May.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be swinging into Australian cinemas on December 13 and into US cinemas on December 14 .
