A first look at Sam Fisher has arrived. Netflix has dropped the official teaser trailer for the upcoming animated series Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The old ghost is back on the grid — older, meaner, and just as lethal. Watch the trailer above and read on for the details.
What the teaser shows
Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan, The Perfect Couple) steps in as the voice of Fisher, and the teaser wastes no time showing him in his element: night vision flares, silent takedowns, and a grim vow — “It’s personal.” The setup keeps things simple: “Sam Fisher is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks his help,” reads Ubisoft’s logline. Sharp-eyed fans will also spot a grave marked for Douglas Shetland, placing this story somewhere after the events of Chaos Theory.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch cast and crew
Alongside Schreiber, the voice cast includes Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Sandman) as Zinnia McKenna, Janet Varney as Anna Grímsdóttir, and Joel Oulette as Thunder.
Behind the scenes, John Wick creator Derek Kolstad is leading the charge as head writer and executive producer — a name that should immediately spark interest for fans of tightly choreographed, high-stakes action.
Direction comes from Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage, with animation by Sun Creature and Fost. Ubisoft Film & Television’s Hélène Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gérard Guillemot also executive produce.
A stealth legend returns
This marks the first-ever screen adaptation of the Splinter Cell games, finally pulling Sam Fisher out of his decade-long gaming absence and into a serialised animated format. And it won’t be Ubisoft’s only streaming push on Netflix – the streaming giant also has a live-action Assassin’s Creed series on the way.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch premieres globally on Netflix on October 14.
