The official trailer has been released for Star Trek: Lower Decks, an upcoming animated series heading to CBS All Access.

Another chapter in the Star Trek franchise that executive producer Alex Kurtzman has at CBS All Access, which includes Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, Lower Decks is an animated show that follows the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the Cerritos.

Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero are among the voice cast members of the series, which was created by Rick and Morty writer/executive producer Mike McMahan. It looks like a good bit of fun, with a more adult slant on the humour and plenty of nods for Trekkies. Looking forward to it!

Star Trek: Lower Decks will warp drive its way to CBS All Access on August 6th.
