A nostalgic little video has been released on the official Star Wars YouTube page.
It may be titled “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker | Special Look,” but really it’s a sweet look back at the overall cultural impact that the space opera phenomenon has had on pop culture since George Lucas dropped jaws with 1977’s A New Hope.
Scattered through this montage of Star Wars‘ pop culture importance are some nice snippets of behind-the-scenes footage, from Lucas’ films to J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Rise of Skywalker. Some moments may get some fans right in the feels, such as those with the late Carrie Fisher, or that statement from a young Mark Hamill: “You’re glad that you’re finishing, but savouring every moment, because you know that it is the last.”
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the last chapter in the Skywalker Saga, will open in Australian cinemas on December 19 and hit the US on December 20.
