The streaming giant has unveiled a promo teaser in line with the New Year’s Eve countdown, showing us a very glitchy VHS-style copy of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which is bringing in 1985. “One summer can change everything,” reads text on the screen and appears as the tagline on season three’s poster, which you can find beneath the trailer below.
The poster finds our favourite kids from Hawkins checking out the fireworks, an activity that lines up perfectly with the next season’s premiere date: July 4, Independence Day. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) have their eye on something though, and the foreground hints at a creature from the underground…
The summer-of-’85-set season will have eight episodes, and while plot details are of course being kept firmly under wraps, we do have episode titles to fuel speculation: “Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy?”, “Chapter Two: The Mall Rats”, “Chapter Three: The Case of the Missing Lifeguard”, “Chapter Four: The Sauna Test”, “Chapter Five: The Source”, “Chapter Six: The Birthday”, “Chapter Seven: The Bite”, and “Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt”.
All eights eps of Stranger Things season 3 will be hitting Netflix on July 4.
