Wrestler turned actor Dave Bautista stars alongside comedian turned actor Kumail Nanjiani in the upcoming action comedy Stuber.
Reminiscent of his side job in his fantastic autobiographical comedy The Big Sick, this films finds Nanjiani playing an mild-mannered Uber driver whose world is turned upside down when he picks up a tough-as-nails cop (Bautista) on the hunt for a killer. Odd couple mayhem ensues.
It’s a fun-looking team-up that could be a perfect showcase for the two stars if their chemistry is on point. There’s nothing here that’s really yelling must see, but it could offer a fun night out. We’ll see. Directed by Michael Dowse (Goon, What If) and written by Tripper Clancy (Hot Dog).
Stuber, also starring Iko Uwais, Natalie Morales, Betty Gilpin, Jimmy Tatro, Mira Sorvino and Karen Gillan, arrives in Australia on July 11 and hits the US on July 12.
