eOne UK has dropped a great new trailer for George Clooney’s next directorial effort, Suburbicon.
Clooney has also co-written the screenplay – alongside the Coen brothers no less – of this dark comedic thriller. The film is set in a picture-perfect suburban community that, of course, is about to witness a deadly turn of events. After husband and father Gardener Lodge (Matt Damon) experiences a home invasion that shakes his world… well, as Lodge says in the trailer: “It’s falling apart, Maggie.”
It’s another solid trailer showing off what could be quite the feature from Clooney, whose previous films as director includes Good Night, and Good Luck. and The Ides of March. It looks like that Coen bros feel is all over this one, although Clooney has proven himself a strong enough filmmaker to ensure his own stamp is well and truly present. We can’t wait.
Suburbicon, also starring Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac, and once featuring Josh Brolin, will open in the U.S. on October 27 and arrives in Australia on November 2.
Synopsis for Suburbicon:
Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.
