BBC has dropped a big new trailer for Taboo, the upcoming mini-series starring Tom Hardy and executive produced by Ridley Scott.
Hardy plays James Keziah Delaney, a man who returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa. Long thought dead, James is back on a road to vengeance, finding a mysterious legacy by his father, going up against the East India Company and all the while playing a dangerous game between two warring nations, Britain and America.
Yep, this looks great. Apart from Hardy on board as lead, he’s also credited as creator with his father Chips Hardy. Add Scott as executive producer, Eastern Promises, Locke, Allied and Peaky Blinders scribe Steven Knight as executive producer, co-creator and co-writer, plus the confidence provided by the great-looking trailer below, and you’ve got yourself what could be an outstanding new television outing to kick off the new year.
Taboo, also starring Oona Chaplin, David Hayman, Michael Kelly and Jonathan Pryce, will premiere in the UK on January 7 and hits FX in the US on January 10.
