Ooooh another intriguing show to add to that now-ridiculously-long must-see list!
Amazon Prime has unveiled the official trailer for Tales from the Loop, a sci-fi series based on the viral futuristic art works of Swedish artist and designer Simon Stålenhag. The series will follow the people in the town situated above “The Loop,” a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe — making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. As Amazon describes it, “in this fantastical, mysterious town, poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences, while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.”
There’s a wonderous and touching vibe to the trailer, and visually, the series looks absolutely stunning. The show was created by Legion scribe Nathanial Halpern and has a team that includes executive Matt Reeves (director of upcoming The Batman) and a pilot directed by Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go, One Hour Photo). The cast includes Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Town), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), Daniel Zolghadri (Eighth Grade), Duncan Joiner (Waco) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones).
Tales from the Loop will be hitting Amazon Prime on April 3. Check out the trailer below and scroll further down to see some of the key art.
