But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.
Since [Rec] 4: Apocalypse hasn’t even started filming, this trailer is more of a compilation of the events that took place in the first film. It’s pretty gutsy, but releasing a trailer this early does mean that the studio is pretty confident that people will want to see the fourth film in this highly successful franchise.
The first two flicks were pretty damn good entries into the ‘found-footage’ genre, but [Rec] 3‘s decision to infuse comedy – as well as dropping the ‘found-footage’ factor all together – didn’t do the series any favors. Jaume Balagueró, the director of the first two films, is back at the helm this time. We’re digging the idea of having this story set at sea too.
