Ready or not, The Terminator will be back… for the sixth time.
The Terminator franchise is indeed getting a sixth film, although this one will thankfully be ignoring the three films that came after Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Details on who’s bringing it to life in a sec. First thing’s first: when is it being filmed and when is it coming out.
While shooting had been scheduled for this month, it turns out that a production start has been pushed back to June. Here’s what returning star Arnold Schwarzenegger told The Arnold Fans:
“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model.”
The film is currently scheduled for U.S. release on July 26, 2019.
Original film director and Terminator creator James Cameron is overseeing the new chapter’s development and he’s officially attached to produce alongside David Ellison. On board as director is Tim Miller, who’ll be making his second feature with this following his hit debut: Deadpool.
Although the plot details are being kept under wraps, it has been confirmed that Linda Hamilton will be back as Sarah Connor, who’s become a “seasoned warrior” over the years.
Schwarzenegger has a busy schedule ahead. Apart from another round as the T-800, he’s also signed up for The Expendables 4 and an Amazon western series titled Outrider. Plus, two more potential projects: a Twins sequel titled Triplets (what else?) and a part in a Conan the Barbarian project currently being written.
Stay tuned for more on Terminator 6 as it comes to fruition.
