Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal reunite in the action-thriller sequel The Accountant 2, which has its first official trailer for you to watch above.
Affleck is back as Christian Wolff, an autistic accountant, who also happens to be one deadly dude you don’t want to get in the way of. This time around, he’s dragged into a deadly conspiracy when an old acquaintance, Ray King (J.K. Simmons), is murdered. Before he was killed, Ray scribbled a message on his arm: “Find the accountant.” Enter Brax—his estranged but equally dangerous brother—who joins him on a mission to crack the case. Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) is also on the trail, and it’s not long before they’re all dodging bullets from a ruthless organisation that wants the truth buried.
The trailer teases brutal fight sequences and the sharp but awkward chemistry between Affleck and Bernthal. The first film had a calculated coolness to it, but this sequel leans more into the brothers’ dynamic—part lethal efficiency, part dry humour. Gavin O’Connor and Bill Dubuque, director and writer of the first film, return in the same capacity for the sequel.
