The official trailer has arrived for The Addams Family 2, the follow-up to the 2019 family adventure that saw the classic spooky-kooky family depicted in CG-animated form.
The sequels finds Morticia (with Charlie Theron returning to voice) and Gomez (Oscar Isaac) distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with “scream time.” To reclaim their bond they decide to cram Wednesday (Chloë Grace Moretz), Pugsley (Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton), Uncle Fester (Nick Kroll) and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, It (Snoop Dogg), as well as many new kooky characters. What could possibly go wrong?
The first film’s directors Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon return at the helm, with Laura Brousseau (head of lighting on the first film) and Kevin Pavlovic (co-editor on the first film) on board as co-directors.
The first animated pic received middling reviews from critics (for eg. 45% Rotten Tomatoes), but nevertheless performed very well at the box office, earning over $US203 million worldwide from an estimated budget of $US24 million.
The Addams Family 2, also featuring the voices of Javon “Wanna” Walton as Pugsley Addams, Wallace Shawn as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandma, and Bill Hader as Cyrus, will be in Australian cinemas from November 25th and US cinemas from October 1st.
