‘The Bad Guys 2’ Trailer: The Ex-Crims Meet Bad Girls in Animated Sequel

The official trailer has arrived for animated sequel The Bad Guys 2, throwing our animal outlaws into another wild ride—this time facing a formidable new crew. Take a look above.

As you see in the trailer, we catch up with the once-crims around five years after the events of the first film. Mr. Wolf and his team are now adjusting to life on the straight and narrow. But their best efforts at staying good take a sharp detour when they’re roped into a daring, high-stakes heist orchestrated by none other than The Bad Girls—a new group of criminals with cunning to spare.

Leading the returning cast is Sam Rockwell as the smooth-talking wolf, err… Mr. Wolf, with Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, and Awkwafina reprising their roles as Mr. Snake, Mr. Shark, Mr. Piranha, and Ms. Tarantula, respectively. The sequel ups the ante with a trio of fresh faces lending their voices to the titular Bad Girls: Danielle Brooks voices Kitty Kat, the snow leopard leader; Maria Bakalova is Pigtail, a sharp-witted engineer with tusks; and Natasha Lyonne plays Doom, a raven whose skills in deception are unmatched.

Returning director Pierre Perifel helms the sequel alongside co-director JP Sans, with Aaron Blabey, behind the best-selling book series that started it all, on board as screenwriter (he co-wrote the first film with Etan Cohen).

The Bad Guys 2 is to hit U.S. cinemas on 1 August and Australian cinemas on 18 September, 2025.
