‘The Banishing’ Trailer: Shudder Scores Haunted House Film from ‘Triangle’ & ‘Severance’ Director

WestEnd Films

Horror fiends may want to keep an eye or two out for The Banishing, a British horror film that scare-fest streamer Shudder has acquired for distribution.

The film is directed by Chris Smith, known for Severance and Triangle, and follows a family of three – a reverend (John Lynch), his wife (Jessica Brown Findlay), and their daughter (Anya McKenna-Bruce) – that move into a haunted house. When the girl is haunted by a spirit, their only chance of help may come from an Occultist (Sean Harris) – which goes against the reverend’s beliefs.

Some creepy visuals shown off in the trailer below. Fingers crossed for it. Shudder will be releasing The Banishing in Australia and New Zealand, North America, UK and Ireland. No release date has been announced as yet.

Official synopsis for The Banishing:
