FX is keeping The Bear cooking. The acclaimed comedy-drama has officially been renewed for a fifth season, less than a week after the release of season 4.
The renewal comes on the back of what FX has described as a “white-hot start” for the latest season, which dropped all ten episodes on June 26.
“The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said John Landgraf, Chairman of FX. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
More on Screen Realm:
While no official premiere date has been revealed, the new season is expected to arrive in 2026. Seasons 3 and 4 were filmed back-to-back to accommodate the increasingly packed schedules of the show’s stars. Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmy, is set to appear in the upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm / The Thing in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear stars White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, and Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich. The cast also includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
Since its debut, The Bear has been a critical darling. It won 11 Emmy Awards for its second season — the most ever for a comedy in a single year — and has picked up accolades from the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Peabody Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and more. The show was also named an AFI Television Program of the Year for its first three seasons. Season 4 currently holds an 84% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series is produced by FX Productions and is available to stream on Disney+ in Australia and on Hulu in the U.S.
