If you’re a fan of Nicholas Sparks and the many film adaptations that have come our way, this should be right up your alley, if you’re not, cringe away. The Best of Me sees James Marsden (in a role originally meant for Paul Walker) and Michelle Monaghan star as former high school sweethearts who reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown. There doesn’t seem to be much else to it, with the trailer coming across as a weepy montage of past Nicholas Sparks adaptations. For those who were somehow unaware, past adaptations are as follows: Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, Dear John, The Last Song, The Lucky One and Safe Haven.
The Best of Me also stars Luke Bracey, Liana Liberato, Caroline Goodall, and Gerald McRaney.
