We were big fans of The Conjuring. Wan drove up the tension in confident, stylish manner, delivering scares that effectively shook you without feeling cheap. It’s good to see him back at the helm for the follow-up, another chapter in his huge deal with Warner Bros./New Line. Also on the horizon are horror outings Lights Out and Annabelle 2, both of which will see him on board as producer, and of course DC adaptation Aquaman, which he’ll direct.
The Conjuring 2, also starring Franka Potente, Maria Doyle Kennedy and Frances O’Connor, hits the U.S. on June 10.
