The trailer has dropped for The Empty Man, a 20th Century Studios horror film hitting cinemas this month.
Based on the graphic novel by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Vanesa R. Del Rey, The Empty Man follows a retired cop (James Badge Dale) looking into an urban legend that the locals of a Midwestern town believe is behind disappearing teens. The film marks the feature debut for writer-director David Prior and also stars Marin Ireland, Stephen Root, Ron Canada, Robert Aramayo, Joel Courtney and Sasha Frolova.
This one’s seemingly popped up out of nowhere, Disney dropping a trailer very close to release – which hopefully isn’t a sign that the studio just want to get it off the line-up asap. Fingers crossed the film packs the tension and has some decent scares, because the surprisingly flat trailer doesn’t really do it any favours. We’ll see.
The Empty Man hits limited US cinemas on October 23rd and limited Australian cinemas on October 29th.
