Marvel Studios has unleashed the official full-length trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering the best look yet at what could (hopefully) be one of the MCU’s boldest entries in years. Not only does this trailer mark the debut of Marvel’s First Family within the MCU, but it also offers a first glimpse at Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer—and yes, Galactus is coming. Take a look above.
Set in a stylish, retro-futuristic 1960s, the film introduces Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as celebrated space explorers-turned-superpowered heroes. The trailer opens with a wave of public adoration, news coverage, and kids cheering as Thing hoists a car above his head. But amid the fanfare and family dinners at the Baxter Building – and the news that Sue Storm is pregnant – an ominous new threat looms.
That threat arrives in the form of Shalla-Bal, aka the Silver Surfer, who arrives on Earth with a chilling announcement: “Your planet is now marked for death.” We see Johnny Storm attempt to go after her – no luck. Cue a guilt-ridden Reed Richards. “It’s my fault,” he says. “I stretched the bounds of space… and they heard.” Plenty of dramatic and exciting footage, including Reed stretching across buildings, Sue conjuring force fields, Johnny blasting through the air, and Thing dragging a giant ship. A hopeful voice comes from Sue: “We will face this together. We will fight it together. As a family.”

And just when things couldn’t get more intense, the trailer shows a massive pair of feet stomping through the city: Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson). We don’t see his face, but the size of those boots alone is enough to send a clear message—Earth is in serious trouble.
The film is directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) and written by a team that includes Jeff Kaplan, Josh Friedman, and Eric Pearson. The cast includes Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will open in Australian cinemas on July 24 and U.S. cinemas on July 25.
