Netflix has dropped the full official trailer for The Gentlemen season 2, with Theo James‘ increasingly ambitious duke Eddie looking ready to push his criminal empire much further. And there’s already more business ahead: the streamer has officially renewed the Guy Ritchie series for season 3. Trailer above and details below.
Eddie Wants More
One year after Eddie and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) joined forces inside Bobby Glass’ (Ray Winstone) criminal operation, Eddie isn’t simply getting comfortable with life on the wrong side of the law. He wants to expand.

The new trailer makes that ambition the driving force. Eddie talks about reclaiming the reach of his family’s estate, pushes the idea that nobody understands the cannabis business better than they do and finds himself encouraged to step out from under Bobby’s shadow. One character goes so far as to tell him he’s “destined to rule”.
James says that ambition is also starting to change Eddie from within. “That ignites a fiery ambition in him, and it also starts to move the ego,” he told Netflix’s Tudum. “It gives him the ability to make decisions based on this idea of wanting more.”
Eddie’s power grab isn’t sitting well with everyone. His increasingly bold moves put fresh strain on his relationship with Susie, while Bobby’s questionable decisions appear to be creating problems of their own. As Eddie says at one point, it’s about “having our cake and eating it”. Judging by the violence, threats and rapidly fraying alliances in the trailer, that may be easier said than done.
And for all the danger, the show doesn’t look to be losing its sense of humour. After another round of guns, beatings and criminal chaos, someone offers perhaps the most reassuring line possible in this world: “There’s no need to panic. We’re still aristocrats.”
The Criminal Empire Heads Further Abroad
Season 2 is also taking the criminal operation well beyond the English countryside. As previously covered, Eddie and Susie’s operation expands to Italy, where they’re attempting to establish themselves without attracting too much attention.
Naturally, that plan doesn’t last long. Their moves bring them into contact with powerful Italian crime boss Marco Moretti (Sergio Castellitto) and Cico Maldini (Michele Morrone), a fixer whose trustworthiness is very much in question.
Returning alongside James, Scodelario and Winstone are Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Harry Goodwins and Giancarlo Esposito. The expanded cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Maya Jama and professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr., among others.
The Gentlemen Season 3 Is Already Official
As first reported by Variety, Netflix has already committed to another round, renewing The Gentlemen for season 3 before season 2 has even arrived.
Ritchie, who created the series and serves as writer, director and executive producer, is confirmed to return as director for the third season. And judging by his comments on the early renewal, he sees plenty more room for this criminal world to grow.
“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable,” Ritchie said. He also said he’s looking forward to pushing the show’s boundaries even further when the third chapter comes around.
There are no plot details or release date for season 3 yet, which isn’t particularly surprising with the second season still to come.
The Gentlemen Season 2 Release Date
The Gentlemen season 2 premieres globally on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
