Check out the UK trailer released for upcoming horror film The Hole in the Ground.
As per so. many. horror outings, a creepy child is what drives this Irish film. The plot follows single mom Sarah O’Neil (Seána Kerslake), who’s attempting to leave her broken past behind by making a new life for herself and her young boy on the fringes of a backwood rural town. Then a sinkhole appears. Then a creepy old lady, who tells her, “It’s not your boy.”
It looks promising. This unsettling-looking film is the feature debut for director and co-writer Lee Cronin, who previously directed shorts and a segment of low-budget anthology film Minutes Past Midnight. If this fulfills its potential, he could be one to look out for.
The Hole in the Ground, also starring James Quinn Markey and James Cosmo, opens in Ireland and in limited US release on March 1.
