‘The Last Days of American Crime’ Trailer: Netflix Action Movie Has Edgar Ramirez On the Final Heist in History

Netflix has released the official trailer for upcoming action movie The Last Days of American Crime, led by Edgar Ramírez.

Based on the Graphic Novel by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini, the film tells of a time when the U.S. government has created a signal to make it impossible for anyone to commit crimes. Ramírez plays a crim who teams up with a famous gangster (Michael C. Pitt) and a hacker (Anna Brewster) to commit an epic final heist before the big signal is broadcast.

Taken 2, Taken 3 and Colombiana helmer Olivier Megaton directs this relatively slick-looking actioner, which was once to star Sam Worthington and have F. Gary Gray (Fate of the Furious) directing. It’s a fun overall concept, although the trailer doesn’t suggest that there’s much more to it all other than badassery, shoot outs and car chases. Still, keen to check it out.

The Last Days of American Crime , also starring Patrick Bergin and Sharlto Copley, hits Netflix on June 5.

Official synopsis for The Last Days of American Crime:

As a final response to terrorism and crime, the U.S. government plans to broadcast a signal making it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts. Graham Bricke (Edgar Ramírez), a career criminal who was never able to hit the big score, teams up with famous gangster progeny Kevin Cash (Michael C. Pitt), and black market hacker Shelby Dupree (Anna Brewster), to commit the heist of the century and the last crime in American history before the signal goes off.

Based on the Radical Publishing Graphic Novel created by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini, The Last Days of American Crime is directed by Olivier Megaton, written by Karl Gajdusek, produced by Jesse Berger, p.g.a., Jason Michael Berman, p.g.a., and Barry Levine, with Patrick Bergin and Sharlto Copley also co-starring.
