This past week has seen two trailers drop for The Batman Lego Movie, and we have both here for your viewing pleasure.
The Lego Movie was a bonafide hit, raking over $US469 million worldwide, earning rave reviews, and ensuring the Caped Crusader had yet another cinematic franchise to launch into. Will Arnett’s Batman may have only been a supporting character in that first film, but fan love cleared the way for a spinoff.
The first two trailers serve as great first looks. Although they’re more like teasers, considering we aren’t really given any plot details, they’re firmly in the fun vein we’re to expect from the film. We’re excited for this one; if only there wasn’t so long to wait until release.
The Lego Batman Movie, also featuring voice work from Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Michael Cera as Robin, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, is currently scheduled to hit the U.S. on February 10, 2017 and Australia on March 30, 2017.
Synopsis for The Lego Batman Movie:
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
