‘The Limit’ Trailer: Michelle Rodriguez & Norman Reedus in Robert Rodriguez’s VR Movie

STX Entertainment

STX Entertainment has released the trailer for The Limit, a 20-minute live-action, first-person virtual reality movie from Robert Rodriguez (Sin City).

Now available to buy as an app across VR platforms, the film finds you, a rogue agent, enlisting the help of M-13 (Michelle Rodriguez), an enhanced super-assassin, to help retrieve your identity and take on the deadly organisation behind your creation. Norman Reedus also stars. Rodriguez co-wrote the film with his son, Racer Max Rodriguez.

Almost immediately, the visuals here remind of the crazy first-person action flick Hardcore Henry, which was pretty impressive on a technical level. The 360-degree element here marks a big difference though; could be quite fun to be looking around during some of these ambitious action sequences. If you’re keen, you can get it at TheLimitVR.com, with both 3-D and 2-D versions available and special features that include making-of featurettes and director’s commentary.

Rodriguez is reportedly considering spawning a franchise from this. Check out the trailer below.

Official synopsis for The Limit:

Also featuring Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), THE LIMIT will put you inside a high-octane 20-minute action movie like you’ve never seen!
