The Lincoln Lawyer is officially rolling into a fourth season. Netflix announced the news during its Next on Netflix event, confirming that Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller will indeed be back in action.
The upcoming season will consist of ten episodes and will draw from The Law of Innocence, the sixth book in Michael Connelly’s series. Production is scheduled to begin in February.
Returning alongside Garcia-Rulfo are Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco), with Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson) confirmed for the full season. As reported by Deadline, Campbell will appear in every episode of the upcoming season, aligning with the source material, in which Maggie plays a prominent role.
The show’s co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey, reflecting on season 3’s culminating events, said to Netflix site Tudum in October 2023: “As far as what it all means, hopefully we will be able to show you in Season 4. But clearly, the only thing Mickey could be thinking is, ‘WTF?’”

A Season 3 Ending Packed with Consequences
Season 3 wrapped up with a finale that delivered twists and heartbreak in equal measure. Mickey secured freedom for Julian La Cosse, a man wrongfully accused of murdering Gloria Dayton. However, the cost was steep, with notable losses, including Mickey’s driver Eddie Rojas and DEA agent James De Marco. The courtroom drama reached a peak with Neil Bishop’s confession of corruption and his subsequent suicide, a scene that left both characters and audiences stunned.
But just as things seemed to settle, the story swerved. In the closing moments, Mickey was pulled over while driving his Lincoln, leading to the discovery of a body in the trunk: Sam Scales, a familiar figure from earlier cases. It’s a moment that has left viewers buzzing with questions about what’s next for the embattled attorney.
What Lies Ahead?
Season 4’s plot remains a mystery, but one thing is certain: Mickey’s troubles are only deepening. With a criminal investigation now threatening to upend his life, he’ll face pressures that challenge his skills and test his closest relationships. As readers of The Law of Innocence will recognise, the next chapter is likely to delve into themes of justice and moral ambiguity, continuing to navigate the blurred lines in a city where clear answers are seldom found.
