Pedro Pascal (Narcos, Game of Thrones) plays the title character, described as “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.” It’s a great first trailer, nailing tone and energy without really giving away anything of plot. This thing can’t come soon enough.
The series is created by Iron Man and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau, with a team of directors that includes Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Bryce Dallas Howard (making her episode-directing debut).
The Mandalorian, also starring Nick Nolte, Werner Herzog, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito, will premiere on Disney+ on November 12.
Official synopsis for The Mandalorian:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
