The official trailer has arrived for The Mongoose, putting Liam Neeson behind the wheel for an Australian-shot action-thriller fuelled by fast cars, wrecked police cruisers and one very determined fugitive. The Mongoose Trailer Sends Liam Neeson on the Run
Neeson plays Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a decorated Afghan war veteran who confronts the abusive partner of his ex-wife, Tara (Tomei). The encounter turns deadly, Fang is accused of murder and he responds in classic Neeson fashion: by stealing a Shelby and leaving the police in his dust.

Leading the pursuit is Major Walter Pope (Chiklis), a ruthless lawman commanding an army of highway patrol officers. “Things are going to get a whole lot worse for you,” Pope warns. Fang’s response: “Bring it on.”
The chase also forces Fang to confront his past. Flashbacks reveal that he was once held captive in Afghanistan, and he makes it clear that he will never allow himself to be taken again.
Helping him stay ahead of the authorities is Tanker (Rhames), a former brother in arms serving as his eye in the sky. Tara also joins his corner as the pursuit becomes a televised national spectacle, with news crews tracking his movements and roadside supporters turning the wanted man into an unlikely folk hero.
Neeson’s Long-Time Stunt Double Makes His Directorial Debut
The Mongoose marks the feature directorial debut of Mark Vanselow, Neeson’s long-time stunt double and collaborator. Vanselow has worked with the actor across more than a dozen films, including the Taken franchise, The Grey, Honest Thief and The Ice Road.
Thompson Evans wrote the screenplay, with Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso producing.
Australia Doubles for Texas, Arkansas and Afghanistan
Although the story unfolds across the United States, The Mongoose was filmed in Victoria. Melbourne and several regional locations were transformed into Texas, Arkansas and Afghanistan, with production based at the Melbourne Screen Hub in Footscray.
The film marks Neeson’s third Victorian production in recent years, following Blacklight and Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky.
The Mongoose will be released in US cinemas on 30 October 2026.
