The official teaser trailer has arrived for The Morning Show, an upcoming series that’s being positioned as an incentive to sign up for Apple’s streaming service when it drops.
The Apple TV+ comedy-drama series stars Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon and follows the lives of those behind a popular US early morning TV show, including its hosts (Aniston & Carell, who you can see in pictures in the teaser below). This is a teaser through and through, offering up no footage of the series itself and hinting at a somewhat serious-ish tone. It’s more of another announcement to get that Apple TV+ hype started.
The series has writer Kerry Ehrin (Bates Motel, Friday Night Lights) on board as executive producer and showrunner. Both Aniston and Witherspoon are among the executive producing team.
There’s not too much else known not about the series, and perhaps even less known about the Apple TV+ streaming service that was announced with the help of Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Jason Momoa and Aniston on stage back in March. The service hits the US later this year, but there’s been no pricing details or word on whether shows will drop in full seasons (like Netflix) or ep by ep. The service will reportedly be expanding to over 100 countries after it launches in the States; we’ll see if Australia is among them.
