Big New Trailer for The Peanuts Movie Brings the Strip to Life

The first full-length trailer has been released for The Peanuts Movie, a 3D-animated feature bringing to life the work of cartoonist Charles M. Schulz.

The first teasers for the upcoming movie provided a look at what appeared to be a loyal rendition of Schulz’s drawing style, but we didn’t really get to see much of how they would be capturing his world – until now.

Honestly, this looks great. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Schroeder, Lucy, the gang’s all here in this lively outing, one that seems to be benefiting from a downright respectful take of the humour and warmth Schulz brought in his original strips.

Horton Hears a Who! and Ice Age: Continental Drift director Steve Martino is at the helm here, directing from a screenplay written by Craig Schulz (Charles’ son) and Bryan Schulz (Charles’ grandson). Craig and Bryan are also on board as producers.

The Peanuts Movie hits U.S. cinemas on November 6 and Australia on December 26.

Official synopsis for The Peanuts Movie:

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
