‘The Penguin’: New Trailer Unveils More of Colin Farrell’s Gritty Batman Spinoff Series

A fresh teaser trailer has dropped for the upcoming crime series The Penguin, featuring Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot (perhaps better known as DC Comics villain “The Penguin”). Fans can look forward to its premiere on Binge in Australia and Max in the US this September. Take a look above.

This eight-episode limited series extends the epic crime saga from filmmaker Matt Reeves that commenced with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global hit The Batman, this time catching up with Cobblepot as he attempts to climb to the top of the criminal underworld following the death of John Turturro’s crime kingpin, Carmine Falcone. The trailer puts a focus on another character who could be eyeing the throne: Sofia Falcone, Carmine’s daughter, played by Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs, Black Mirror).

Alongside Farrell and Milioti, the ensemble cast includes Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.

The Penguin series is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Colin Farrell, Dylan Clark, and Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Hemlock Grove) who also serves as the writer and showrunner. Craig Zobel (The Hunt, Mare of Easttown) directs the first three episodes and is joined by Bill Carraro as an executive producer.

September can’t get here quickly enough!
