Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming six-episode mystery drama series The Perfect Couple, with an ensemble that includes Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, and Eve Hewson.

Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, The Perfect Couple centres on Amelia Sacks (Hewson), a bride marrying into one of Nantucket’s most affluent families. Greer Garrison Winbury (Kidman), the groom’s mother and a celebrated novelist, spares no expense for the lavish wedding. However, the joyous occasion takes a dark turn when a body is discovered on the beach, transforming the event into a gripping whodunit. As secrets unravel, an investigation ensues, echoing the twists of one of Greer’s own novels, with everyone emerging as a potential suspect.

The large ensemble also features Schreiber as Tag Winbury, the groom’s father, Fanning as Abby Winbury, the sister-in-law, and Billy Howle as the groom, Benji Winbury. Also in the line-up: Meghann Fahy as Merritt Monaco, Ishaan Khatter as Shooter Dival, Jack Reynor as Thomas Winbury, Mia Isaac as Chloe Carter, Sam Nivola as Will Winbury, Michael Beach as Dan Carter, and Donna Lynne Champlin as Nikki Henry. Isabelle Adjani recurs as family friend Isabel Nallet.

Emmy winner Susanne Bier (The Night Manager, Bird Box, In a Better World) directs all six episodes and serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner Jenna Lamia (Good Girls). Other executive producers include Kidman, Shawn Levy, Gail Berman, Hend Baghdady, Per Saari, and Josh Barry.

The Perfect Couple is lined up for a Netflix premiere on September 5.
