20th Century Fox has dropped a clip from The Predator, the upcoming franchise entry from filmmaker Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys).
“What’s the big one, Doc? Is that, like, the male?” Keegan-Michael Key’s Coyle ask Olivia Munn’s biology professor, Casey Bracket, as they witness a big new Predator easily take down the type that we’ve come to know in the franchise so far. Intriguingly, we get a P.O.V. interaction between the two hunters. “Tell me where it is,” the big new creature demands. Check out the clip below.
The first reviews have been somewhat mixed for the film, ranging from high praise (“one of the most enjoyable popcorn flicks hitting multiplexes this fall season,” reads The Playlist‘s review) to the scathing (“it poses a serious threat of boring people to death,” reads IndieWire‘s review).
The rest of us will be able to decide for ourselves when The Predator, also starring Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski, arrives in Australia on 13 September and opens in US cinemas on 14 September.
Official synopsis for The Predator:
From the outer reaches of space to the backwoods of southern Georgia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before. And only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biology professor can prevent the end of the human race.
