‘The Prodigy’ Trailer: The Boy Who Played Georgie in ‘It’ is Back to Really Creep Us Out

Orion has unveiled a creepy teaser trailer for upcoming horror film The Prodigy, starring young actor Jackson Robert Scott, who you’ll remember as Georgie “You’ll float, too!” Denborough in last year’s It.

Scott plays Miles, a young boy whose disturbing behavior begins to cause his mother, Sarah (Taylor Schilling), to believe that something supernatural may be affecting him. It’s an effective, moody little trailer, showcasing just enough to unsettle without giving away much in the way of plot. So far, we’re in.

The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy, known for At The Devil’s Door and The Pact. Screenwriter is Jeff Buhler, who’s been locking in some pretty high-profile projects since writing 2008’s The Midnight Meat Train. Buhler is a co-writer on the upcoming Stephen King adaptation Pet Sematary, co-writer of the Grudge reboot arriving next year, and creator of Syfy’s upcoming George R.R. Martin series Nightflyers.

The Prodigy, also starring Peter Mooney, Colm Feore and Brittany Allen, will hit US cinemas on 8 February 2019.
