Aussie streaming service Stan has unveiled the trailer for The Rook, an upcoming supernatural spy thriller series from American premium cable and satellite television network Starz.
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Australian author Daniel O’Malley, The Rook tells the story of Myfanwy Thomas (Emma Greenwell), a woman who wakes up in the rain beside London’s Millennium Bridge with no memory of who she is and no way to explain the circle of latex-gloved dead bodies splayed around her. When Myfanwy discovers she is a high ranking official in the Checquy, Britain’s last truly secret service for people with paranormal abilities, she will have to navigate the dangerous and complex world of the agency to uncover who wiped her memory – and why she is a target.
The series comes from executive producers Lisa Zwerling (Betrayal, FlashForward, ER), Karyn Usher (Bones, Prison Break, Backstrom), and Stephen Garrett (The Night Manager, Hunted) via his Character 7 banner, and is adapted and co-produced by Sam Holcroft and Al Muriel. Lionsgate and Liberty Global produce the series.
The Rook, also starring Joely Richardson, Olivia Munn, Adrian Lester, Ronan Raftery, Catherine Steadman, Jon Fletcher, Shelley Conn and James D’Arcy, will be hitting Starz and Stan soon.
