The Secret Life of Pets Trailer Offers a Hilarious Look At Our Unsupervised Pets

The first trailer has been released for The Secret Life of Pets, and it’s awesome.

The fifth film collaboration between Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures tells of what our pets do when we’re off at work or school every day, and no, not all of them just sit by the door waiting for your return.

Chris Renaud, co-director of Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, and Yarrow Cheney, a production designer making his feature directorial debut, look to be bringing Illumination’s first great film that isn’t in the Despicable franchise. The film doesn’t come out for a bit over a year, but this trailer, an energetic little montage, has us absolutely excited for what could be a hilarious, creative, and adorable outing.

The Secret Life of Pets, with a voice cast that includes Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks, hits the U.S. on July 8, 2016.
